Robert B. Snyder, Sr. Honored

On Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, 2015, the MCICNJ Trustees met to have their annual meeting at Skytop Lodge located in Skytop, PA.

In addition to normal business, the MCANJ honored its retiring MCICNJ Chairman Robert B. Snyder, Sr. Mr. Snyder is truly a legend in the Mechanical Contracting Industry and has an impressive background. Robert B. Snyder, Sr., began his 50 year career with Binsky & Snyder during high school working with a plumber and pipefitter craftsmen. He joined the company full time upon graduating from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1963 and became President and CEO in 1965 marking the second generation owner. With his vast knowledge and experience in all facets of the industry, he moved the company forward building it into one of the largest and most technically advanced mechanical contractors in the country.

Bob has been involved with union labor relations and negotiating committees for over 25 years and has served as a Trustee for Plumbers Local 24 and remains a Trustee for Pipefitters Local 475. He also served as President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey from 1991-1993. He was the Chairman of the Mechanical Contractors Industry Council of New Jersey from 1997-2015. In fact, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America presented Mr. Snyder with a plaque that states; “the MCAA acknowledges and congratulates Bob Snyder, Sr. on more than fifty years of distinguished services to the Mechanical Contracting Industry of New Jersey. Our association, our union and our entire industry are in a far better place thanks to the dedication and leadership of Bob Snyder.” This award is well deserved and MCANJ is honored, proud and privileged to have Robert B. Snyder, Sr., as a member and a close friend.
